Full-stack developer and architect in Orlando, Florida

Christopher Taliaferro

I build the parts people use and the parts that keep them running — healthcare platforms at scale, autonomous rovers at NASA, and a few games when nobody is looking.

Mission

I specialize in crafting robust, scalable solutions that bridge the gap between front-end innovation and back-end efficiency.

With a foundation in Computer Science from the University of Central Florida, I pair technical depth with a collaborative mindset. My goal is to contribute to a forward-thinking team, delivering high-quality solutions and building products that make a real impact.

I look forward to meeting.

Work

  1. February 2022 — Present

    Senior Web Developer

    MediaLab, Vastian

I design, develop and maintain web applications that support healthcare and laboratory operations. I work across teams to deliver user-friendly, scalable and secure solutions — optimizing performance, implementing responsive designs, and keeping everything compliant with industry standards.

  2. June 2020 — February 2022

    Tech Lead

    The Garage

I led a team of developers through critical issues and new products, using object-oriented and service-oriented methods. I owned the technical quality of what we shipped and the timelines behind it, automated redundant DevOps work like server configuration and deployments, and kept the application architecture aligned with the business as it grew.

  3. April 2019 — June 2020

    Software Engineer, Research & Development

    The Garage

I built and maintained a population health management and telehealth platform connecting hospitals, providers, physicians and patients around better care at lower cost. I worked every layer of new and existing applications, untangled legacy code, and documented both.

  4. September 2018 — July 2019

    Robotic System Software Developer, Intern

    National Aeronautics and Space Administration

I developed automated operations that let fleets of vehicles communicate and carry out tasks together, using the Robot Operating System along with AI and machine learning to partially and fully automate robotic systems. I also designed scheduling algorithms for autonomous systems, turning large volumes of state, constraint and event data into actions aligned with higher-level objectives.

  5. December 2017 — April 2019

    IT Specialist and Junior Programmer

    RTC Group Inc.

I diagnosed and resolved technical issues from phone and ticketing systems using VNC, RDP, FTP and MySQL. I wrote custom HTML email receipts for clients, debugged and tested machines, services and experimental products, and kept customer records accurate so open issues closed quickly.

Education

August 2019

University of Central Florida

Bachelor of Science, Computer Science

At UCF I built a broad skill set that still shapes how I work. I competed in UCF Hackathons, built applications with peers well beyond coursework, and took up lifelong learning as a habit rather than a slogan.

May 2017

Florida State College at Jacksonville

Associate of Science

FSCJ is where I learned to take problems apart and stay with them. I made the Dean's List nearly every semester and graduated at the top of my class.
